Grand Rapids Christian High School Boys Varisity Coach and Assistant Coach @ Calvin University Men’s and Women’s Tennis.
Tim has a passion for coaching players of all ages and ability levels. He specializes in small group drills focusing on situational strategies, tactics, and fundamentals.
Chris has been a local tennis player who played junior level USTA tournaments, high school varsity tennis at East Kentwood High School and college tennis at Grand Rapids Community College and Aquinas College.
He has coached tennis at a few different local high schools and had previously taught lessons for almost 20 years at MVP Sportsplex and Ramblewood Tennis And Health Club.
He has maintained an Elite Level Tennis Instructor Certification from the United States Professional Tennis Association for about 15 years.
Gunnar is an Oakland County native who attended Brother Rice High School before moving to Grand Rapids in 2013 to study and play at Aquinas College. He competed at a high level in high school, winning the Division 1 State Championship at 2 singles as a junior. While at Aquinas he was a four-year starter on a team that qualified for the NAIA National Tournament twice, including years ranked #10, #13 and #17 in the nation. After graduating in 2018, he served as an assistant coach for the Saints and in 2022 earned the head coach position for both the men’s and women’s programs. He also serves as the head coach for boys varsity tennis at Grand Rapids Christian.
Some of the areas most experienced and successful high school coaches came together to create the biggest tennis academy in Grand Rapids. While competing against each other during the season, the head coaches from 5 of the top high school tennis program in Grand Rapids join forces during the summer!
